Up until now so good. I am entirely in love with this product from Friedrich, Made it the very best cost on the internet when we purchased it initially of this month.

Great AC unit does the job better than expected
I just got the SS14N10 and it was install by a pro every thing was nicely installed and the unit is fantastic.
Cooled a large room with 8 server grade computers pushing out lots of heat. Oh lets add my NYC apt is facing south and gets direct sun to boot!
How about that! This unit got the room to 70 with no problem.
When I came home it was NICE!!!!
One day I drop it to 60 and see how it handles that!
I consider my apt the worse nightmare that any AC unit can deal with.
So I have no complaints at all
The compressor slight hum is with in limits that is OK for it's size you can't expect a unit to be that quiet.
I have more noise from my 6 Apple server then this AC unit!

This unit is WiFi ready it is an option you have to buy I have yet to see that and wished it came with it for free.
Any way hope that I don't regret this review I doubt I will I've had a top end unit before and it lasted a long long time....

Most Underlined Buyer Review : Excellent 8,000 BTU output for those hot desert days.
I wanted this model AC based on lots of positive reviews and I'm not disappointed. It outputs a lot of cold air for my 5th wheel RV in our desert climate. There is one thing: I noticed when installing it in my window that the inside is lined with what looks like a thin film of styrofoam. I asked the local Sears people about the durability of this. I thought in a very dry climate like ours the stuff would eventually crack and flake off, flying into the fan and other parts, but as usual they hadn't a clue except that all their Kenmore models have this lining. So I'll have to bear with it and hope that doesn't happen. Otherwise it's a nice AC and I got a splendid deal on it.

Cool and Quiet
After an intense heat wave (3 straight days of 95+ degree heat), I realized my 9 yr. old Friedrich Quietmaster
wasn't exactly quiet (or cool) any more. My old AC compressor was running like a freight train, and when
your AC is challenging the TV for living room audio supremacy, it's time to replace it.

The problem: How do I replace my AC with minimal modification to the current window cabinet setup?

Fortunately, I found this Friedrich Kuhl which replaced my old Friedrich Quietmaster 12K BTU like a charm.
In fact, it fits perfectly into the existing cabinet so I didn't even have to use the brand new metal cabinet that

I would have to say I was nervous spending this much money on an AC unit and some of the reviews didn't help. But you know often all you hear are the bad things about a product. So hears the good new. This unit is quiet, really quiet! Sure some folks may have received a noisy unit but I'm guessing they did a poor job of installing and insulating it. Also, it provides a ton of cooling. I was fortunate and specifically picked this size unit because it slid into the opening that was previously occupied by the old AC unit. For those who say the instruction are poor I found the direction are straight forward on how to install the unit. Just take the time to read all the instruction (maybe several times) and if you have a modest set of skills you should be able to install the unit through the wall. If you are installing the unit in a window, even easier. This unit requires two people to lift it and slide it into place, its not necessarily the weight as much as the size of the...
