Well, after doing a great deal of research and reviewing the reviews right here and somewhere else, I decided to purchase Haier CPN11XCJ Portable Air Conditioner, 11000 BTU. Though I 'd have chosen a better guarantee, I chose the attributes were attractive enough to try it. It is a bunch of cash to discard if it fails just after the warranty. I am entirely in love with this item. It is high quality product, wise features. I simply got it today, and I will update my testimonial later on if required.
COLD , SOMEONE GET ME A JACKET!
Well i just got the ac unit like 2 days ago...... from previous reviews I already knew i was going to get insulation for the hose and the window -so I did. i set it up on a high sturdy table just below the window ran the hose ,insulated it and the window . turned it on and cold air was right there ,although it was 96 degrees outside and 85 in my room as i was installing it . long story short -its quiet ,its smooth , its looks very modern and hi-tech with its blue screen and the remote works perfect.my room dropped 9 degrees in 12 minutes flat ..... was hanging at 69 degrees in an hour and got as low as 65 over night to the point i had to put the temp back to 70 because me and my wife were to cold!!

My parents surprised me with this portable AC unit as an early birthday present and I couldn't be more thrilled! I've looked at portable units for a few years now but have always talked myself out of the expense by reminding myself how we never had AC growing up and so I didn't really need one now. But... with the 90+ degree, SUPER HUMID weather we've been having this year, I was ready to break down and buy at least an old window unit, so this couldn't have arrived at a more perfect time :)
It's currently in my bedroom because while I can deal with the heat during the day, I find it challenging to sleep through it in the evening. I also know that my parents purchased this with the intent of it being used in my room. They really stressed the fact that they had shopped around to try and find me the quietest model for that reason alone. I don't know anything about BTU's but I can say that this unit is probably overkill for my little 120sq foot bedroom. Not a bad thing...
