Well, after doing a bunch of research and checking out the reviews below and in other places, I chose to purchase Frigidaire FRA186MT2 18,500 BTU Window-Mounted Median Air Conditioner with Temperature Sensing Remote (230 volts). Though I 'd have liked a much better warranty, I decided the functions were appealing enough to attempt it. It is a bunch of money to toss away if it falls short just after the guarantee. I am totally in love with this item. It is high quality product, wise functions. I simply got it today, and I will update my testimonial later if required.
Excellent AC for cheap!
This AC was bought to replace an old 23,500 BTU thru the wall unit. I installed this myself in the same place where that old AC was. Install was rather easy, and I am not sure why people are saying that it was difficult or confusing. NOTE THAT YOU NEED A 220V OUTLET FOR THIS AC!!
First, the people who say that this AC is noisy must not have installed it properly. For its size and power, this unit is very quiet. There are no rattling sounds or anything of the like. Second, despite this being 5,000 BTU less than the unit it replaced, this unit cools very well. We have had a few 100 degree days already this year, and this AC had no problem dealing with them! The people who complain that it doesnt cool well likely received bum units and should return them.

ENERGY EFFICIENT

The fan then cycles on for 20 seconds at 10 minute intervals until the room temperature is above the set temperature, at which time the compressor turns back on.
